There are three new "Danger Rocks" hazard warning buoys installed along the mostly submerged rock wall at the southern tip of Seaway Island. Every year there are incidents of boats inadvertently engaging that rock wall with serious consequences. The buoys are located as per the following communication issued by US Coast Guard Sector Detroit. Please follow your charts and know where you are at all times while out on the water and have a safe boating season.
As a heads up once again as in the past dozen years or so, the USCG AUX will be at the marina on Saturday, June 1st to conduct free vessel safety checks (VSCs) between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM. I expect to have an adequate number of qualified examiners from our Flotilla in attendance to conduct these checks but, please be patient as we do our best to accommodate all requests.
